What is Pima cotton?

Pima cotton is the softest and firmest type of cotton and owes its name to the American Pima Indian tribe. The Pima Indians were the first to cultivate this type of cotton on a large scale. Garments made from Pima cotton are durable and of high quality. The difference between normal cotton and Pima cotton is that the fibers of Pima cotton are longer and stronger. As a result, this fabric lasts much longer, feels softer, and has a nice sheen. Pima cotton also weighs less than normal cotton.

The quality of Pima cotton is similar to Egyptian cotton, although the fibers of Pima cotton are slightly shorter. Both types of cotton are woven very finely, resulting in a moisture-absorbing fabric. All kinds of clothing are made of Pima cotton, for example, underwear or polo shirts.
